Mercedes NTG6 map activation code
NTG6 is the first Mercedes MBUX generation. It appeared with the W177 A-Class and was later used across many compact, SUV and facelift models. During a manual USB navigation update the vehicle may request a Map License Key, activation code, Navi PIN or PIN code.
Common compatible models
NTG6 / MBUX Gen 1 is commonly used in W177 A-Class, W247 B-Class, C118/X118 CLA, H247 GLA, X247 GLB, W213 E-Class facelift, C257 CLS facelift, W167 GLE, X167 GLS, later W463 G-Class, EQA/EQB and EQC vehicles.
How to identify NTG6
- Two wide displays are often placed side by side under one glass surface.
- The system uses the first-generation MBUX interface.
- The centre console normally has a touchpad instead of the older COMAND rotary controller.
- Many cars support the first-generation “Hey Mercedes” voice interface.
Regions and imports
NTG6 head units are sensitive to market region. Korean, Japanese and Southeast Asian imports usually cannot install a European, Middle East or North American map without region work on the head unit. Check the original region before ordering.
Common problems
- USB stick is not valid: commonly means the USB region does not match the vehicle region.
- Navigation menu is missing: the vehicle may not have the navigation entitlement. A map code cannot activate a missing navigation app.
- Install stops midway: use a reliable USB drive and keep vehicle power stable during the update.
- Map version not supported: older head unit firmware can reject very new map packages.
How to order
Prepare the USB map update first, then order the code with the same NTG generation, region and version shown by the update package. The portal shows the result after payment and sends it by email.
